Scott Sands: 1966 – 2014

“I am dealing solely in moments now, and my goal is to maintain my relentless desire to seize every single one of them! You see, moments accumulate and grow into futures, and futures comprise lifetimes. By focusing on moments, I can relish in looking back on them from a future that was never promised.” – Scott Sands

DMD Pioneers remembers Scott Sands. He lived a full life despite having Duchenne muscular dystrophy and he wouldn’t have had it any other way. He was a great friend to many and a loving husband to his wife Rebekah. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his dear wife. Scott will be sorely missed and never forgotten as long as we remember what he stood for.

  • As a mom to a seven year old recently diagnosed with dmd, Scott is an inspiration, and has given me hope. I hate this disease, and what it does to our babies, but when I see someone live past their 20’s, it gives me hope that my boy will, too. Praying for the family as they try to cope with their loss <3
